2026 Drill & Color Guard Nationals

      Meet the Team's Leadership

For the 25-26 school year, the Viking drill team commander  C/1LT Emmanuel Fadli, his executive officer C/1LT Miguel Torres, and the color guard/exhibition commander C/1LT Armaan Ghaffari brought the Viking drill team to Daytona Beach nationals. After placing first in the armed division at the Fort Lee best of the best competition and securing their place at regionals, the team worked tireless afternoons practicing. After placing 5th in the armed division at the North Carolina regional best of 4th brigade competition, the team secured their place at Daytona Beach nationals!

      Armed Exhibition Drill

Competition day began early in the morning with the exhibition platoon's performance. Led by cadet Ghaffari, the platoon successfully put on a show. Later that morning, cadet Ghaffari had an impressive solo showcasing his unique skills and dedication to the art. That afternoon, cadets Iraheta and Ghaffari had their duet where they showed off their coordination and unbreakable bond.

      Drill & Color Guard

Early in the morning, Cadet Ghaffari led an almost flawless color guard routine, which greatly reflected their previous performance in North Carolina where our color guard had placed 1st in the armed division. Cadet Fadli also ran a great inspection platoon that left the head judge impressed with his improvement since the regional competition. The Viking battalion is proud of their achievement after spending countless hours after school and on weekends practicing. The bond the team created this year is unmatched and will forever be an unforgettable experience. The new drill team commander C/1LT Miguel Torres, his new executive officer C/2LT Sofia Atiki, and the new color guard commander and executive officer, C/1LT Amaya Johnson and C/2LT Sammer Abdul Razak are dedicated to bringing the team back to nationals in San Antonio next year.

      2026 Raider Nationals

      Meet the Team's Leadership

The raider team for the 25-26 school year was led by commander C/CSM Tanner Ketchledge and his executive officer C/1LT Camryn Dutrow. This pair has shown outstanding leadership and dedication all year to their team in preparation for nationals.

      The Competition

The Viking raider team competed at Fort Knox, Kentucky for the 2026 national raider competition. Woodbridge competed against over 220 schools from Army JROTC across the United States. One of the events included is the 5k. This 3.1 mile run goes through rough terrain and hills, but all members of the team powered through it with ease. Cadets also had to go through what is called "the gauntlet". This intense, physically demanding obstacle course is designed to push cadets to their limits. Cadets will have their speed, strength, and endurance challenged to their limits, and the Viking raider team did not disappoint. Another event cadets had to partake in is the rope bridge. The rope bridge is a timed event where cadets are tested on their coordination and  speed to tie knots to build a secure rope structure, which they will then cross. On their downtime, the team visited local museums, stores, and even made friends from other schools. Overall, cadets will never forget the memories and bonding experience they had here.

Not too long after the competition, there was a change of command. The new Viking raider team commander is C/1SG Dominick Iraheta and his executive officer C/1LT Armaan Ghaffari. This duo will make it their goal to bring the team back to nationals.
